Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit shipping between
Tunisia and Sicily while B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers
bomb convoy in Gulf of Tunis and shipping and marshalling
yard at Sousse.
Tenth Air Force. 12 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25
Mitchell medium bombers attack Gokteik Viaduct, causing only
minor damage.
Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) A-20
Havoc light bombers attack Guadagasal area and barges offshore.
B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Toeal. Single B-24 Liberator
heavy bombers attack ship North West of Madang and bomb Salamaua,
Gasmata, and Cape Gloucester.
Thirteenth Air Force. Single B-24 Liberator heavy bombers
hit airfields at Vila and Kahili. 3 heavy bombers bomb Munda
airfield.
Eleventh Air Force. 343d Fighter Group moves to Adak, and
the first flight of medium bombers is brought up to Amchitka.
This enables stepped-up raids on Kiska. 8 B-24 Liberator heavy
bombers and 4 P-38 Lightning fighters bomb and strafe Chichagof
Harbour area and Holtz Bay installations. A fighters sweep,
6 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, and 10 B-25 Mitchell medium
bombers hit North Head and Main Camp area.
