In the Mediterranean. United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
Liberators bombers bombed Naples and Crotone.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF). The British Royal Air Force
(RAF) starts round-the-clock operations against the enemy
from United Kingdom.
Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bomb El Aouina
airfield. Fighters and A-20 Havoc light bombers hit troops
and military traffic in Thala-Kasserine-Sbeitla areas and
along Gafsa-Feriana road. Other fighters carry out widespread
reconnaissance and patrol missions. British First Army and
United States troops of II Corps occupy Kasserine Pass.
Ninth Air Force. During
24-25
February 1943, B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Naples harbour
and Crotone. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack motor transport
on Arram road.
Tenth Air Force. Fighters from Dinjan dive-bomb bridge 10
miles West of Myitkyina. A single span is knocked out and
another damaged. Heavy bombers again fail to damage Myitnge
bridge. More than 40 Japanese aeroplanes attack Dinjan airfield,
32 intercepting P-40 fighters claim at least 9 aircraft shot
down.
Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) A-20
Havoc light bombers again bomb and strafe forces at Guadagasal
Saddle and vicinity. Heavy bombers continue to attack shipping,
airfields, and town area at Rabaul. Gasmata airfield is also
bombed.
Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-38 Lightning fighters, P-40 fighters, and F4U Corsair fighter
sweep Kahili area.
Eleventh Air Force. 4 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-40 fighters sweep Kiska. 6 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers
and 5 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Main Camp and North
Head areas.
