History

The 25. Räumbootsflottille was formed in 1945 but was not an operational flotilla during the war, and was formed from other disbanded flotillas after the surrender of Germany. And was commanded by Horst Rixeter, and was made up of the 1934 Type, 1936-42 Type and 1937-43 Type R-boats and was deployed for minesweeping.

After the war ended the 25. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping by The German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) around the coastal waters of Denmark.
