History

The R150 R-boat (Räumboot) was built in the 1940s by Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard located in Lemwerder, Germany as a minesweeper or escort vessel for the Kriegsmarine.

And which served in the 1. Räumbootsflottille and 4. Räumbootsflottille during the Second World War.

And after the surrender of Germany was employed in the German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) and United States Labour Service Unit B (LSU-B) which were controlled by the allies.

The R-boat R150 is commissioned.

1945
The R-boat R150 becomes operational with the 1. Räumbootsflottille.

1945
The R-boat R150 becomes operational with the 4. Räumbootsflottille.

1945
The R-boat R150 serves with the German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA).

1 December 1947
The R-boat R150 is seized as a prize of war by the USA.

16 June 1948
The R-boat R150 is transferred to Nord Taucherbetrieb, Lübeck, for use as a diving boat.

5 September 1949
The R-boat R150 is transferred to A van Holt of Hamburg, as a Rhine tug.

15 September 1953
The R-boat R150 serves with the United States Labour Service Unit B (LSU-B) as the USN 150.

11 December 1956
The USN 150 is renamed to UW 5 whilst serving with the German Federal Navy (Bundesmarine).

28 April 1967
The UW 5 is taken out of active service.

1967
The UW 5 is transferred to the naval cadets at Kiel as the accommodation vessel Schleswig-Holstein.

November 1979
The Schleswig-Holstein is transferred to the Eberhardt dockyard, Arnis.
