Fourteenth Air Force. 3 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 60 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters, P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers, and P-40 fighters damage 4 bridges, hit river shipping, pound town areas and villages, and attack various targets around Hwayuan, Changte, Suchow, Sinyang, Hankow, Laohokow, Nanyang, Tatung, Tashihkiao, Pinyang, Luchai, Kiehsiu, Linfen, Tsinan, and Shihkiachwang.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). Labuan Island is bombed by United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers. Other heavy bombers drop napalm on Brooketon. Fighter-bombers hit Cagayan Valley targets and support ground forces in Cervantes areas as ground forces penetrate last defensive position on Mindanao. Bad weather cancels operations North of the Philippine Islands.

Twentieth Air Force. 110 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's attack aircraft factories at Nagoya, Akashi, and Narao. 26 others mine Shimonoseki Strait during 8-9 June 1945.

Seventh Air Force. 20 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters from Ie Shima strafe various targets on Kyushu.

VII Fighter Command. 57 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) fighters from Iwo Jima pound Kagamigahara airfield and surrounding area. 20 parked aeroplanes are claimed destroyed damaged.

Eleventh Air Force. In coordination with Navy surface and air forces attacking in the Kurils, 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and 8 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers fly extensive armed weather reconnaissance and anti-shipping sweeps over Kurabu and Otomari Capes, Ichinowatashi, and Asahigawa. The B-24 Liberator heavy bombers score no results, half of them jettisoning their bombs. The B-25 Mitchell medium bombers then fly a diversionary bombing mission over Araido where they are attacked by 8 fighters. To evade them, the B-25 Mitchell medium bombers fly over Kamchatka where Soviet antiaircraft fire shoots down one, killing its crew. Another damaged B-25 Mitchell medium bombers crash lands in Petropavlovsk. This is the first time Soviet antiaircraft hits a United States aircraft.
