B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's, some escorted by P-51 Mustang
fighter-bombers of VII Fighter Command, bomb aircraft plants
at Tominka. Chiba and Ogikubo, seaplane base at Kasumigaura,
Tachikawa Army Air Arsenal, and engineering works at Hitachi.
The fighters claim 26 fighters downed.
Seventh Air Force. 39 Ie Shima based United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters sweeping Kyushu, strafe
numerous ground targets, and claim 17 aircraft shot down.
Eleventh Air Force. 2 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers fly with Navy aircraft on shipping
attack and hit a small cargo vessel.
