The Soviet Army almost destroys the Wehrmacht 4. Armee in the Heiligenbeil Pocket in East Prussia.

Ninth Air Force. All combat operations cancelled because of weather except for 2 fighters of IX Tactical Air Command which patrol United States Third Army front.

Twelfth Air Force. Clear weather during 28-29 March 1945, permits United States Army Air Force (USAAF) light bombers to hit rail loading points, trains, vehicles, roads, and bridges at many places in Po Valley as well as river crossings at Borgoforte, Lodi, San Benedetto Po, Ostiglia, and Casalmaggiore, factory at Brescia, and motor transport movement in Milan, Piacenza area. Bad morning weather cancels medium bombers operations except for a pamphlet mission over Bologna. When weather clears about noon, XXII Tactical Air Command fighter-bombers hit dumps at La Spezia and other points near battle area, Lavis viaduct, railroad bridges or approaches at Ora, Santa Margherita d' Adige, Nervesa della Battaglia, Rovereto, Ala, and other locations, and many vehicles and train cars and other targets throughout Po Valley and Northeast Italy.

Fifteenth Air Force. Continued bad weather limits operations to reconnaissance and reconnaissance escort missions by 23 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-38 Lightning fighters.

Tenth Air Force. Bad weather curtails operations in Central Burma. 6 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit troop concentrations and 8 others attack unsuccessfully 2 bridges immediately behind enemy lines. Transports complete 560 sorties to forward areas.

Fourteenth Air Force. 18 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, escorted by 12 P-40 fighters, bomb railroad yards at Yoyang. 11 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers attack shipping in South China Sea, at Bakli Bay, at Samah Bay, and at Haiphong, heavily damaging a destroyer and a merchant vessel. 4 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers claim 6 small steamers sunk and several vessels damaged in Liuchow area while 2 others hit town area and railroad targets in Dong Giao area. Single B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit targets at or near Loyang, Loning, Neihsiang, Yiyang, and Hsuchang. 90 fighter-bombers over South and East China and over Indochina attack troops, supplies, transport, and command targets at several places, concentrating strikes around Hengyang, Chuchou, Isuho, Nanking, and Namyung, and among many targets hit airfields at Amoy and Kai Tek.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack Toshien, Byoritsu, and Eiko. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Camalaniugan, B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers hit Legaspi and surrounding area, and A-20 Havoc light bombers and numerous fighters hit various targets in South West Luzon. Cebu is bombed by B-25 Mitchell medium bombers in support of ground forces while A-20 Havoc light bombers support troops landing on Negros. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Oelin airfield.

Twentieth Air Force. 24 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's fly last mission under XX Bomber Command, attacking oil storage facilities on Bukum Island during 29-30 March 1945. 2 other very heavy bombers bomb individual targets on Malay Peninsula.

Seventh Air Force. 31 Iwo based United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40 fighters bomb and strafe Haha Jima. 9 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Guam bomb Dublon.

Eleventh Air Force. 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Kataoka naval base. 8 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers weather-abort a mission to Tomari Cape. 1 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers flies radar ferret mission along Paramushiru coast.
