374 British Royal Air Force (RAF) Halifaxes, Wellingtons, Stirlings, Lancasters, Mosquitos carried out intensive raid on Aachen in West Germany, 20 bombers lost during this raid.

In Sicily. Fall of Floridia and Palazzolo was announced.

Russian Front. Fighting in Bielgorod area continued with utmost ferocity.

Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). During 12-13 July 1943, Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) Wellingtons hit Caltanissetta, Gerbini airfield, and Enna. During day, B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers , B-26 Marauder medium bombers, and fighters attack Enna, Milo airfield, Carcitella landing ground, Randazzo, and targets in Sicily. Northwest African Tactical Air Force (NATAF) aircraft hit truck convoys, trains, railway stations, troops, and numerous targets over wide areas in Sicily. Northwest African Coastal Air Force (NACAF) continues sea patrols, reconnaissance, and convoy protection and attacks ship convoy Northeast of Palermo. British effort to break out onto Catania Plain by establishing bridgehead over Simeto River near Lentini is firmly opposed.

Ninth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers strike airfields at Crotone and Vibo Valentia. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack Leonforte road and harbour on Termini. P-40 fighters patrol Licata area.

Tenth Air Force. 16 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers lay mines in Irrawaddy River.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers and B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, operating individually, bomb airfields, town area, harbour and other targets in Lae area. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers blast positions in Salamaua area, along road between Kela and MacDonald's Junctions. Ground forces clear Mubo area and Lababia Ridge of enemy.
