Russian Front. Lozovaya rly junction. South of Kharkov, was
captured from the Wehrmacht ground forces by the Soviet shock
troops.
In Australasia. The Japanese continued to withdraw in Wau
area of New Guinea.
French warships, including battleship Richelieu, arrived in
United States of America ports for refitting.
It was announced that General Harold Alexander to be deputy
Commander-In-Chief to General Dwight Eisenhower in North Africa.
Twelfth Air Force. Bad weather cancels heavy bomber and medium
bombers missions. A-20 Havoc light bombers hit Station de
Sened. Fighters escort Light bombers and transports, and fly
reconnaissance and patrols.
Ninth Air Force. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Liberators,
under IX Bomber Command, are sent against Heraklion airfield
during
10-11
February 1943. Severe weather causes them to abort near South
coast of Crete.
Fifth Air Force. During predawn hours a B-17 Flying Fortress
heavy bombers carries out harassing strike over Rabaul.
Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-26 Marauder medium bombers, P-38 Lightning fighters, and
P-39 fighters bomb airfields at Munda and Vila.
