The British War office stated that there was nothing of importance
to report from Narvik, where operations were continuing. There
had been slight German activity in this area.
Unofficial reports from Stockholm stated that there was bitter
fighting in a snowstorm at Narvik. German bombers operating
from Norwegian bases took part for the first time. Norwegian
Foreign Minister, Professor Koht, and Minister of defence,
Col. Ljungberg, arrived in London for consultations with British
ministers.
Norwegian fortress of Hegra, 26 miles east of Trondheim, reported
to have surrendered after three weeks of siege.
Roeros, from which invading Germans had been driven. Last
week by Norwegians, was reoccupied by German troops.
Post reported that during the night of

May 1940 in the region of Saar, the German forces supported
by heavy artillery fire attack three outposts, but were driven
off.
