History

The 13. Räumbootsflottille was formed in 15 November 1943 and was initially commanded by Georg Schulze, this flotilla was made up of the following 1937-43 Type R-boats and was deployed for minesweeping and security duties.

After the war had ended the 13. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping by the The German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) and later was transferred to The United States Labour Service (LSU).

The surviving vessels from 13. Räumbootsflottille was handed over to the German Federal Navy (Bundesmarine) in 1957.
