History

The R47 R-boat (Räumboot) was built in the 1940s by Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard located in Lemwerder, Germany as a minesweeper or escort vessel for the Kriegsmarine.

And which served in the 4. Räumbootsflottille during World War II.

And after the capitulation of the Third Reich was employed in the German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) which was controlled by the allies.

The R-boat R47 is commissioned.

1940
The R-boat R45 becomes operational with the 4. Räumbootsflottille.

1945
The R-boat R45 serves with the German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA).

5 December 1947
The R-boat R47 is seized as a prize of war by the British and is broken up, and scrapped.
