Mauser, based on the cone bore principal, which was first
patented in 1903 by Karl Puff.
Mauser
also designed a variant to be mounted on vehicles. This was
designated

cm KwK 42. However, it was never used. The original variant
2.8 cm s PzB 41 was mounted on
