P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers and P-38 Lightning fighters over
Indochina and South and East China attack docks and shipping
at Haiphong, Red River shipping between Hanoi and Hung Yen,
small craft between Mon Cay and Pakhoi, between Elongay and
Pai-lung Wei Cape, and between Pai-lung Wei Cape and Umpo.
The fighter-bombers also hit road traffic on Luichow Peninsula
and sampans East of Tanchuk.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers fly massive sweep along West
coast of Kyushu. Fighter-bombers support ground forces in
Cagayan Valley. Others attack Batan Island. B-24 Liberator
heavy bombers again pound defences near Balikpapan. B-26 Marauder
medium bombers bomb Sibuti. Other B-24 Liberator heavy bombers
pound Donggala seaplane base and runways at Boeloedowang and
Limboeng airfields.
Seventh Air Force. 3 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Guam attack antiaircraft
installations on South West corner of Marcus.
VII Fighter Command. Iwo Jima based United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) fighters fly 161 effective strike sorties against
Yokosuka naval base, Imba, Tsukuba, and Kasumigaura.
Eleventh Air Force. 8 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers radar bomb ltataoka naval base.
