P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers groups conduct successful strafing
attacks on numerous targets while P-47 Thunderbolt fighters
group bombs marshalling yards and factory buildings.
Ninth Air Force. 340 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
A-20 Havoc light bombers, B-26 Marauder medium bombers, and
A-26s bomb rail bridges at Mayen, Niederscheld, and Colbe,
Unna ordnance depot, Kamp road junction, Siegen and Sankt
Wendel marshalling yards, town of Rheinburg, and targets.
Fighters escort 9th Bomber Division, fly sweeps, patrols,
and armed recon, attack special targets, and support United
States 3rd Armoured Division at Paffendorf bridgehead, United
States Ninth Army elements near Monchen Gladbach and Neuss
2nd Armoured Division reaches point within 6 miles of the
Rhine, and VIII, VII, and XX Corps between the Prum and Kyll
Rivers and near Trier.
Twelfth Air Force. On

February 1945, United States Army Air Force (USAAF) A-20 Havoc
light bombers attack a few marshalling yards, bridges, rail
lines, and general movement but because of bad weather are
recalled by midnight. XII Tactical Air Command fighter-bombers
continue to pound command and other targets, including Ghedi
and Vicenza airfields, ammunition dumps near Codroipo and
West of Villafranca di Verona, and shell loading plant South
West of Piacenza. medium bombers bomb bridges at Ala, Santa
Margherita d'Adige, San Michele all'Adige, Ponte di Piave,
and Pordenone, and railway embarkment at Salorno.
Fifteenth Air Force. Approximately 680 United States Army
Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers and B-24
Liberator heavy bombers bomb marshalling yards at Lienz, Ora,
Bolzano, Vipiteno, Vicenza, Fortezza, Bressanone, Brunico,
Brescia, and Conegliano, and bridges at Albes and Verona-Parona
di Valpolicella. 109 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers provide
escort. 75 P-38 Lightning fighters divebomb Sankt Veit an
der Glan marshalling yard and strafe rail lines in Sankt Veit
Klagenfurt Villach Ljubljana areas. Other P-38 Lightning fightersand
P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers strafe rail traffic around Bruck
an der Mur, Innsbruck, klagenfurt, Worgl, and Passau, and
attack Bjelovar airfield, destroying enemy held B-24 Liberator
heavy bombers and P-38 Lightning fighters. Recon and supply
flights are maintained.
Tenth Air Force. 28 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47
Thunderbolt fighterss support forces of British 36th Division
in Mongmit area. 75 fighter-bombers continue pounding troop
concentrations, supply dumps, and road traffic behind enemy
lines, 552 transport sorties are flown, landing men and supplies
at forward bases and dropping supplies to front line troops.
Fourteenth Air Force. 2 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack targets in Hsiang River
Valley while 2 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers hit targets Northeast
of Hengyang. A single B-24 Liberator heavy bombers damages
a cargo vessel in South China Sea.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers strike airfields at Sandaken
and Labuan. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Caldera Point
and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit San Roque airfield. B-25
Mitchell medium bombers fly napalm raid against Sanga Sanga
airfield.
Seventh Air Force. 8 Guam based United States Army Air Force
(USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound Susaki airfield.
23 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Angaur bomb Sasa airfield.
