convoys moving supplies through Siang Chiang Valley, bomb
railroad yards at Siaokan, and knock out 2 bridges South of
Sincheng and Lohochai. 50 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers, P-47
Thunderbolt fighters, and P-38 Lightning fighters continue
campaign to disrupt enemy movement and withdrawal in Indochina
and South and East China, pounding numerous rail, road, and
river targets, supply dumps, and coastal shipping.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). 22 United States Army Air Force
(USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Okinawa hit Chiang
Wan and 1 hits Tinghai airfield. 37 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers
bomb oil plant at Shanghai and destroyer in Whangpoo River.
P-47 Thunderbolt fighters from Ie Shima join the medium bombers
attack on Shanghai area, hitting destroyer, gunboat, and freighter
in the Whangpoo River, and factories and railroad shops. 34
P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers from Okinawa also hit Whangpoo
shipping. 37 A-26 Invader light bombers hit airfields at Tachang.
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers on night shipping search and
weather mission bomb airfields at. Tinghai on Chusan Island,
Pusan, and Yonago. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, P-51 Mustang
fighter-bombers, and P-38 Lightning fighters, hampered by
bad weather, fly 30 ground support sorties in Gubano, Cervantes,
and Mankayan areas.
Twentieth Air Force. During 22-
23
July 1945, 23 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress
heavy bomber's, staging through Iwo Jima, mine Shimonoseki
Strait and Korea coast at Najin which is the longest B-29
Superfortress heavy bomber combat mission of the war and in
Pusan-Masan area. 72 others bomb coal liquefaction company
at Ube.

VII Fighter Command. 100 Iwo Jima based United States Army
Air Force (USAAF) fighters hit airfields, rail installations,
and other tactical targets at Itami, Hanshin, Sano, Tokushima,
