Events On This Day

Fourteenth Air Force. 11 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 2 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers attack truck convoys in Siang Chiang Valley, bomb Headquarters near Wuchang and hit bridge, trains, warehouses, and antiaircraft positions in Sienning area. 40 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers, P-38 Lightning fighters, and P-61 Black Widow, night fighters again attack numerous targets and disrupt enemy movement in Indochina and South and East China, hitting command targets, supplies, transport, and other targets opportunity.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and A-26 Invader light bombers bomb shipping at Naze-Ko. P-38 Lightning fighters hit Kiangan area. Bad weather restricts activity in Netherlands East Indies (NEI), Philippine Islands, Japan, and other target areas mainly to light raids and snooper missions.
