Eighth Air Force. More than 1,000 United States Army Air Force
(USAAF) heavy bombers attack Magdeburg synthetic oil plant,
marshalling yards at Dresden, Cottbus, and Rheine, and several
targets. 9 fighters groups fly escort and strafe transportation
targets.
Ninth Air Force. Approximately 90 United States Army Air Force
(USAAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers bomb Sinzig and Mayen
rail bridges and 4 targets in the area. Fighters patrol points
along battlefront, attack railroads and other special targets,
fly armed reconnaissance and support United States VII, VIII,
XII, and XX Corps along Roer and Prum Rivers and in Saar River
bridgehead area.
Twelfth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) medium
bombers bomb Spilimbergo ammunition dumps through overcast,
but are forced by the bad weather to cancel all other operations.
Fighter-bombers, limited by weather, concentrate on railway
targets in Northeast and West Po Valley.
Fifteenth Air Force. More than 650 United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and B-17 Flying
Fortress heavy bombers bomb 5 station freight yards, Southeast
goods depot, Korneuburg oil refinery, and Vienna, Floridsdorf,
Matzleinsdorf, and Penzing marshalling yards all in Vienna
area, plus marshalling yards at Klagenfurt, Wiener Neustadt
and Graz, Graz ordnance depot, shipyards in Fiume and scattered
targets are also hit. Fighters escort heavy bombers and fly
reconnaissance and reconnaissance escort missions.
Tenth Air Force. 12 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25
Mitchell medium bombers hit buildings, troops, and other targets
during sweep from Lashio to Loilem and along road East and
West from Loilem. 20 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters fly close support
strikes in Mongmit Myitson area. Bridge at Hay-ti is knocked
out by 6 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters. 56 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters
attack troops, town areas, and supplies at Paukmyaing, Nam-hpuktok,
Namtoi, and Namhu-tau. 8 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters hit Li-lu
ferry area. Large-scale transport operations continue. 511
sorties are flown to forward areas.
Fourteenth Air Force. 15 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
fighter-bombers attack railroad targets at Saiping, in Hankow
area, North of Sinantien, between Hsuchang and Loyang, and
along the Yangtze from Wuhu to Hankow.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack bridges in South part
of Formosa. Heavy bombers again blast Corregidor with A-20
Havoc light bombers and fighter-bombers bombing and strafing
its few remaining gun positions. Fighter-bombers hit Caballo
Island and fighter-bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers,
and A-20 Havoc light bombers hit Bataan Peninsula all day.
Also hit are troops and gun positions in Fort William McKinley
area and airfields at Tuguegarao and Echague.
Twentieth Air Force. 33 Marianas based United States Army
Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's bomb Mitsubishi
aircraft engine works at Nagoya. Almost 70 others hit last
resort targets, 54 of them bombing Hamamatsu.
Seventh Air Force. 24 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Saipan, in two separate
strikes, bomb Iwo Jima airfields and antiaircraft defences.
12 others hit airfields at Chichi Jima. 4 B-24 Liberator heavy
bombers from Guam, escorting photo aeroplanes over Truk, bomb
airfields at Param and Moen Islands. 5 B-24 Liberator heavy
bombers fly night harassment raids against Iwo and Chichi
Jima.

launched against England, hit Crayford.
V-2 rocket
launched against England, hit Iver Heath.
V-2 rocket
launched against England, hit Shoreham.
V-2 rocket
launched against England, hit Corringham Marshes.
