on Munich and surrounding areas.
In the Mediterranean. Allied fighters and bombers from Malta
attacked railways in Sicily.
Russian Front. Soviet Headquarters announced evacuation of
Krasnodar, Lozovaya, Pavlograd, Krasnoarmeisk, Kramatorskaya,
Barvenkovo, Slavyansk and Lisichansk in the Donetz area.
In Australasia. Strong Japanese raid on Wau airfield, New
Guinea.
United States of America. United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
bomber aircraft again raided Kiska, Aleutians.
Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). Bad weather cancels Northwest
African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) operations and restricts
other commands to reconnaissance, patrol, and transport missions.
Tenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40
fighters hit town area and bridge at Mogaung. Many fires are
started and the bridge is severely damaged.
Thirteenth Air Force. 3 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb airfields at Munda, Kahili,
and Ballale Island.
Eleventh Air Force. 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, 10 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers
, 12 P-38 Lightning fighters and 4 P-40 fighters attack Kiska.
The P-40 fighters and 6 of the medium bombers return to base
due to bad weather; the other bombers bomb Main Camp area,
North Head and submarine base.
