A Luftwaffe bombing raid on the harbour of Bari, Italy, sinks an United States ship carrying a mustard gas stockpile, causing many fatalities.

Allied Expeditionary Air Force (AEAF). Combined Chiefs of Staff authorises Allied Expeditionary Air Force (AEAF) to attack sky sites in Pas de Calais area and on Cherbourg Peninsula, which The British Royal Air Force (RAF) photography and British intelligence have virtually identified as missile-launching sites.

Twelfth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and The British Royal Air Force (RAF) light bombers support ground forces in Monte Trocchio area, and other B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and The British Royal Air Force (RAF) and South African Air Force (SAAF) aeroplanes support ground forces near Sant' Ambrogio. More B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit bridge and approaches near Chieti. Fighters strafe trucks and trains while fighter-bombers blast gun positions along United States Fifth and British Eighth Army fronts, and hit harbours and shipping along Yugoslav coast at or near Omis, Drvenicki, Trogir, Vrbnik, and Ston.

Fifteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, with fighters escort, bomb town area, railroad bridge, and marshalling yard at Bolzano. B-26 Marauder medium bombers achieve excellent results in raid on bridge South of Orvieto and marshalling yard at Arezzo. B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers blast Kriegsmarine U-boat pens at Marseille.

Fourteenth Air Force. 18 Japanese bombers and 30 Zeros attack Suichwan airfield. 9 P-40 fighters intercept, shooting down 1 Japanese aeroplane. 2 P-40 fighters are lost. 6 P-40 fighters on armed reconnaissance bomb villages between Sha Nyao and Chiao Tou Chieh. 16 others bomb Japanese positions Northeast of Changte.

Fifth Air Force. 50 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers pound Borgen Bay area. 20 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and B-26 Marauder medium bombers hit enemy forces in Finschhafen area. Sio area is bombed by 2 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers.

Thirteenth Air Force. 20 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit Malai and attack positions on Porror River and Rigu Mission at Kieta. More than 20 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Korovo. Fighter patrol strafes Chabai area.
