Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers and B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bomb marshalling yards at Villa Literno and Aversa. P-38 Lightning fighters escort also attacks Aversa. Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) aircraft claim over 20 enemy fighters shot down. Northwest African Tactical Air Force (NATAF) fighters and bombers hit traffic on Bovalino-Bagnara road.

Ninth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers attack railroad station, marshalling yard, and air depot at Cancello Arnone.

Fourteenth Air Force. 14 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, 7 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers , and 11 P-40 fighters attack docks and airfield at Hankow. A large force of fighters, estimated at more than 60, attacks the heavy bomber formation, shooting down 2 of the B-24 Liberator heavy bombers. Gunners on heavy bombers claim more than 40 fighters shot down. In Hengyang area, 19 P-40 fighters battle 33 aeroplanes, shooting down 5 Zeros. South of Changsha, 9 P-38 Lightning fighters clash with 12 Zeros, shooting down 3.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bomber pound But and Dagua airfields. B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bomb Bogadjim area. Single B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit Salamaua area and target at Malahang. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers carry out damaging strike against Pombelaa.

Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and fighters strafe barges in Doveli Cove and Marquana and Paraso Bays.

Eleventh Air Force. During the Aleutian Campaign 3 June 42 to 21 August 43 Eleventh Air Force destroyed 69 aircraft, sank 21 and damaged 29 ships, and lost 29 of its own aircraft.
