The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers raided Oberhausen (Ruhr), 18 bombers lost.

In the Mediterranean. Island of Lampione occupied by Allied naval party.

Creation announced of a Tactical Air Force of the The British Royal Air Force (RAF), based on this country, Air Marshal Sir John Henry D'Albiac appointed to the command.

His Majesty the King reviewed United States 5th Army in North Africa.

Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). During 13-14 June 1943 Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) Wellingtons bomb Messina. Other Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) and Northwest African Tactical Air Force (NATAF) aeroplanes continue patrols and reconnaissance. North West African Photo Reconnaissance Wing maintains flights over Sardinia and Sicily.

Fourteenth Air Force. 8 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40 fighters intercept about 8 bombers and 20 fighters 25 miles Southwest of Nanchang. The P-40 fighters claim 7 fighters shot down.

Fifth Air Force. A single United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bombs Lakunai airfield at Rabaul

Thirteenth Air Force. 18 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, escorted by F4U Corsair fighter, hit Vila airfield. 11 B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers and B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Kahili airfield and hit nearby Shortland Island.

Seventh Air Force. 1 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Funafuti bombs runways at Tarawa.
