Ninth Air Force. 20 Luftwaffe aircraft attack 4 Ninth Air Force airfields in United Kingdom (Gosfield, Andrews Field, Earls Colne, and Great Dunmow), killing 8 and wounding more than 20 men.

Twelfth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40 fighters and A-36 Apache dive bomber attack oil tanks, warehouses, railroads, and vessel at Civitavecchia, town of Acquafondata, and (with The British Royal Air Force (RAF), South African Air Force (SAAF), and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) aeroplanes) hit tactical targets along British Eighth Army front, and later strafe road traffic in Canosa Sannita-Chieti area. Fighters also bomb vessel in harbour at Split.

Mediterranean Allied Air Forces (MAAF). Mediterranean Allied Air Forces (MAAF) is established on 20 December 1943).

Fifteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, with fighters escort, bomb marshalling yard at Sofia. B-26 Marauder medium bombers hit bridge approaches West and East of Ventimiglia. P-38 Lightning fighters fly weather reconnaissance in Sofia and Zara areas.

Fourteenth Air Force. 12 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 16 P-40 fighters attack marshalling yard at Hanoi. Warehouse area and railroad station suffer heavy damage. Japanese aircraft bomb Hengyang airfield. 8 P-40 fighters intercept 1 wave of aeroplanes over the field, shooting down 3 of them. 2 P-40 fighters are lost in the combat.

Fifth Air Force. 27 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb targets at Cape Gloucester and Huon Peninsula. 40 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and B-26 Marauder medium bombers bomb supply and bivouac areas and bridges along Bogadjim Road. P-39 fighters strafe barges in Madang area.

Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Kahili supply area and airfield. P-39 fighters bomb supply area and antiaircraft positions at Tonolai and strafe 4 barges in the harbour. B-34 Lexington bomber hit buildings at Arigua Plantation.
