The British Admiralty announced that the submarines HMS H49
and HMS Tuna had lately sunk three enemy supply vessels. Italian
torpedo boat destroyer reported to have been sunk in Ionian
Sea by British submarine.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) made further heavy attacks
on Channel ports, particularly Le Havre. Kiel and other objectives
in North West Germany were successfully bombed. War against
Italy.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) twice raided enemv concentrations
at Sollum.
In morning Luftwaffe, aircraft flying singly approached East
and South coasts, but few penetrated far. Bombs fell on Northeast
coast. In afternoon attacks were made on coastal towns from
Hastings to Southampton. Bombs fell in a Midlands town.
During night raids on London, Haves, followed by high-explosive
bombs, fellon North, West and Southern suburbs. Hospital,
flats, shops, industrial premises and houses sulfered. Incendiary
bombs damaged premises-in Central London. North West coastal
town was heavily raided. Luftwaffe lost 34 aircraft. Eight
British fighters lost, but pilots of three safe. Dover was
shelled for over an hour.
