The British War office communiqué stated that Allied
troops in southern Norway had been heavily engaged south of
Dombaas by strong German forces, supported by artillery, armoured
cars and low-flying aircraft, and had been forced to make
limited withdrawals. Patrols reported to have been active
north of Stenkjer.
The British air ministry stated that attacks by the British
Royal Air Force (RAF) on German bases in Norway and Denmark
continued throughout Thursday and during the night. Large
transport attacked in Oslo Fjord, and oil tanks at Vallo set
on fire. Seaplane base at Stavanger attacked.
Luftwaffe flying boat destroyed. German bomber shot down over
the North sea. Six Luftwaffe aircraft shot down by British
fighters and anti-aircraft guns in Norway, eight others damaged.
Five British aircraft missing.
