Events On This Day

The British War office stated that in the area north of Stenkjer British patrols had been active and captured some prisoners.

In the Gudbrandsdal a heavy German attack against Allied forces and near Kvam, southeast of Dombaas, had been driven off, with considerable German losses. Air action against Allied lines of communication and bases continued.

Supreme War Council held short session in London.

Joachim von Ribbentrop in an address to neutral diplomats and press men declared that Germany had invaded Norway to forestall Allied plot to occupy the country.
