Mr Churchill issued official statement on France's acceptance of Germany's terms.

The Ministry of information published summary of articles of armistice terms imposed by Germany on Pétain government.

French plenipotentiaries were handed Italian conditions for Armistice, near Rome.

General de Gaulle announced the formation of the French National committee.

French troops still holding out in parts of the Maginot line.

Italian attacks reported on Alpine front.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers made in daylight raids in Holland and Germany. Hamburg, bombed.

Italian submarine reported sunk by a light forces operating in East Indies. Malta suffered 39th raid.
