The British Admiralty announced that the submarine HMS Sturgeon
had sunk 10,000 ton Kriegsmarine transport off northern point
of Denmark DH

September 1940.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) again made concentrated
attacks on invasion ports along French, Belgian and Dutch
coasts. Dortmund-Ems Canal again bombed. Supply train travelling
towards Munster attacked, and bombs dropped on yards at Hamm,
Ehrang, KrefeId, Mannheim and Soest.
Coastal Command aircraft scored direct hits on two supply
ships off Dutch coast.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombed aerodrome at Menastir,
Western Desert, and damaged motor transport at Sidi Barran.
In East Africa Diredawa and Berbera successfully bombed, as
was Gura aerodrome.
Large force of Luftwaffe raiders crossed Southeast coast in
morning, but were driven back by our fighters before reaching
London area. Bombs fell in Brighton, resulting in damage and
casualties.
During night gliding raider dived and dropped two bombs in
Central London. Incendiaries fell in Southeast London. Four
Luftwaffe aircraft shot down. Britain lost seven fighters,
but pilots of three safe.
