Events On This Day

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Made large-scale attack ion Duisburg-Ruhrort Other forces bombed ports of Lorient, Cherbourg, Dunkirk, and Ostend, and several aerodromes.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Scored success in Eastern Libya, bringing down 10 Italian fighters. During night Benghazi, Berka, and Benina were raided, as were Gura, Massawa, and Asmara in Italian East Africa.

During the night British naval unit, assisted by air cooperation, successfully bombarded Maktila camp, on Libyan coast.

After day of slight activity Luftwaffe launched another, but minor, night attack on Midlands. Bombs also fell in London area, in South coast town and in many other widespread districts. One town in South West England had its 202nd raid.

The Greek War, Greeks reported to have launched new offensive on wide front. Attacks continued on Morova mountains over looking Koritza.

Hungary joined Three Power Pact between Germany, Italy and Japan.
