Events On This Day

No night bombing operations by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Owing to unfavourable weather.

The war against Italy, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers raided Tepelini, Albania. In Libya, Derna, Bomba and Bardia were bombed.

During day bombs fell in East Anglia and Home Counties and in a town in South England. At night Liverpool A had two short raids. Bombs fell at several places in East Anglia and in widely separated places in southern half of England.

One Luftwaffe aircraft destroyed, Britain lost one fighter.

The Greek War, Italians abandoned Koritza and retreated northwards to Elbasan and Pogradets. Greeks began to occupy the town General Greek advance throughout Epirus front reported. Tanks, 200 motor vehicles, much war material and many prisoners captured. Argyrokastro aerodrome bombed.

Air Marshal O. T. Boyd, newly appointed Deputy to A.O.C., Middle East Command, taken prisoner after forced landing over Sicily.

King George opened new session of Parliament.
