Events On This Day

The British War office stated that at Narvik. The areas occupied by Allied forces had been extended.

In Namsos area, the situation was unchanged.

Near Domaas British troops after stubborn resistance, had withdrawn.

Norwegian authorities claimed to have recaptured Roeros and later to have driven the Germans from Toenset.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) launched extensive night attacks on aerodromes at Stavanger, Fornebu and Aalborg. Heavy damage done to aerodromes and aircraft, in spite of strong opposition. At least three Luftwaffe fighters shot down. Seven British aircraft lost

The British Admiralty announced that the minesweeper HMS Dunoon had been sunk by a mine.
