Coastal Command aircraft bombed shipping off Le Havre.
During night the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers attacked
oil stores, shipping and docks at Emden, and docks at Flushing,
causing large fires.
Other forces bombed key distribution centres at Osnabruck,
Hamm, Schwerte, Ehrang and Brussels. Norderney seaplane base
and several aerodromes attacked.
Italian defences west of Egyptian frontier reported to be
thickening.
Day raids on Britain, included attacks by single aircraft
on several towns in South England and on one in At night territic
antiaircraft barrage again started in London area, but Luftwaffe
attacks were sporadic. incendiary bombs fell in North West
district and caused some damage. Elsewhere widespread attacks
caused relatively small damage and few casualties. Two towns
in Midlands and one on South coast attacked. Luftwaffe lost
three machines, Britain none.
