The Polish general staff, announced that the Germans had withdrawn from the immediate neighbourhood of Warsaw.

The Luftwaffe maintained constant bombing raids over Warsaw.

A statement was broadcast in Germany from Adolf Hitler's headquarters that the German advance was being slowed for the consolidation of the conquered territory.

Canada declared war on Germany.

German torpedo boat hit a mine at the entrance to the Baltic and sank immediately.
