The R6 R-boat (Räumboot) was built in the 1930s by Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard located in Lemwerder, Germany as a minesweeper or Escort vessel for the Reichsmarine which became later known as the Kriegsmarine

And which served in the 5. Räumbootsflottille and 6. Räumbootsflottille during World War II.

Career

1933
The R-boat R6 is commissioned.

1939
The R-boat R6 becomes operational with the 5. Räumbootsflottille.

1941
The R-boat R6 becomes operational with the 6. Räumbootsflottille.

13 August 1943
The R-boat R6 is attacked and sunk by an Allied aircraft attack off Civitavecchia.
Position 42° 02N 11° 35N, 3 crew lost.
