The 3. Räumbootsflottille was formed in 1939 and was

Heydel, this flotilla was made up of the following 1937-43
Type R-boats and was deployed for minesweeping and security
duties.
The 3. Räumbootsflottille was virtually destroyed on
the 30 August 1944 after the ships crews scuttled and blew
up their ships however the flotilla was reformed on 1 March
1945. Under the command of
Helmut
Klassmann.
After the war ended 3. Räumbootsflottille was deployed
for minesweeping by the

German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) in the Baltic
sea.
