The R4M Orkan Bordrakete (Typhoon or Hurricane) was a air

in 1944.
The R4M Orkan Bordrakete (Typhoon or Hurricane) was a 55
mm calibre rocket propelled unguided folding fin air to air
missile system design work was begun by DWM at the request
of Kurt Heber this missile was designed as simply as possible
so it could be produced in huge quantities. The missiles make
up is as follows, nose impact fuse, an HA 41 warhead, solid
fuel rocket motor. The R4M was then mounted as auxiliary
armament beneath the wings of the carrier aircraft as a wooden
