History:
The 21 cm Nebelwerfer 42 (21 cm Nb.Wf 42) was a five barreled
multiple rocket launcher mounted on a two wheeled carriage.
And fired a 21 cm Wurfgranate missile that was spin stabilised
electrically fired. The crews of these weapons could only
fire once because smoke trails marked the firing location,
making it relatively easy for the enemy to shoot back. Counter-battery
fire was thus a serious issue for rocket units. The 21 cm
Nebelwerfer 42 was also adapted for Luftwaffe use early in
1943 and was known as
21
cm Werfergranate 42 or Bordrakete 42
