A-20 Havoc light bombers, A-26 Invader light bombers, and B-26 Marauder medium
bombers bomb Geisecke marshalling yard, Sythen ammunition
filling plant, town of Gronau including a rail bridge, and
several casual targets in or near 9 other towns. Fighters
escort medium bombers and light bombers, fly patrols and armed
reconnaissance, support United States III and VII Corps just
East of the Rhine River between Bad Honningen and the Sieg
River, and XII and XX Corps as they push to the Rhine River
at Worms and at a point North of Mannheim.
Twelfth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) XXII
Tactical Air Command light bombers during
19-20
March 1945, continue intruder missions into Po Valley while
fighters and fighter-bombers pound command targets in the
Valley during the day and severely damage fuel dumps near
Mantua. Medium bombers hit 4 bridges on Brenner line and 2
others in Northeast Italy and hit other bridge approaches
nearby.
Fifteenth Air Force. 760 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
heavy bombers, with fighters escort, hit Korneuburg and Kagran
oil refineries, marshalling yards at Wels, Sankt Polten, Amstetten,
Wiener Neustadt, and Klagenfurt, and tank works at
Steyr.
Routine supply, reconnaissance, and escort missions continue.
Tenth Air Force. 20 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47
Thunderbolt fighters sweep roads South of bomb line in Central
Burma. 16 others hit supply dumps behind Japanese lines. Transports
continue to supply forward areas.
Fourteenth Air Force. 4 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-38 Lightning fighters claim 11 trucks destroyed and 9 damaged
between Son La and Hoa Binh.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and
fighter-bombers fly numerous ground support missions and hit
targets at Balete Pass, Bayombong, Tuguegarao, Antamok, San
Fernando, Bontoc and along roads. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers
pound supply and personnel area East of Cebu City and North
of Mambaling, defensive positions North West of Talisay and
antiaircraft guns to the North, and also bomb Talisay. Other
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb town of Tainan. B-25 Mitchell
medium bombers on shipping sweep sink 3 small vessels near
Qui Nhon.
Seventh Air Force. 12 Guam based United States Army Air Force
(USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Susaki airfield.

the airfield.
