Eighth Air Force. The Operational Analysis Section ceases to function as a unit after a successful career of statistical research which assisted materially in improving the effectiveness of United States strategic bombing.

Fourteenth Air Force. 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Sinsiang railroad yards while 4 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 4 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters damage bridge North of Linmingkuan. 18 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers hit river shipping, warehouses and other targets in Yoyang area. 20 other fighter-bombers knock out bridge near Szeshui, pound river shipping near Yoyang, and attack various targets in Huluehchen area.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound Takao while fighters aircraft sweep Formosa coastline. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and fighter-bombers continue to hit targets in Cagayan Valley, at Pingkian, Kayapa, Gattaran, Cumao, Bone, and in Ipo area. Many of the missions are ground support strikes. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and P-38 Lightning fighters hit Tarakan Island troop concentrations while B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, and P-38 Lightning fighters hit Kota Belud, Victoria, Jesselton, Langkon, and Labuan Island.

Twentieth Air Force. 458 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's attack city of Osaka. 148 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers of VII Fighter Command, en route to escort rendezvous with the very heavy bombers, encounter a severe weather front. Flying behind in excessive turbulence, many of the fighters collide. 27 are lost. 27 others manage to find the B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's and escort them over the target. 10 B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's are lost. The B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's claim 16 fighters destroyed.

Seventh Air Force. In the Ryukyus 12 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47 Thunderbolt fighters from Ie Shima fly strafing and rocket attacks against Kikaiga, Tokuno, and Amami Gunto.

Eleventh Air Force. A United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 4 plane shipping strike is called off due to weather.

Zone of Interior. Army Air Force Centre is established with jurisdiction over Army Air Force School of Applied Tactics (formerly Army Air Force Tactical Centre), Proving Ground Command, and Army Air Force Board.
