and 4 P-47 Thunderbolt fighters blast railroad yards at Shihkiachwang.
7 other B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and 2 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers
hit bridges South of Yoyang and bomb truck convoys in Siang
Chiang Valley, particularly around Siangtan area. 37 fighter-bombers
disrupt enemy movement over wide areas of Indochina and South
and East China, attacking numerous targets.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-38 Lightning fighters hit suicide boat hideout at Sandakan
while B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Jesselton airfield.
P-38 Lightning fighters support ground forces, hitting positions
along Kibawe trail. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit Itu Aba.
90 P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers pound numerous targets on
sweeps over Nagoya area and hit airfields, factories, power
facilities, and gun positions at locations including Kagamigahara,
Nishinomiya, and Osaka.
Twentieth Air Force. On 19-
20
July 1945, 27 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress
heavy bomber's lay mines in Oyama, Niigata, Miyazu, Maizuru,
Tsuruga, Nezugaseki, Obama Island, and Kobe Osaka areas and
at Wonsan. 470 very heavy bombers (also operating during the
night) drop incendiaries on Fukui, Hitachi, Chosi, and Okazaki
while 83 others bomb oil facilities at Amagasaki.
VII Fighter Command. Iwo Jima based United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) fighters strike airfields, factories, railroads,
power lines and other tactical targets at Kagamigahara, Nagoya,
Meiji, Izumi, Nishinorniya, and Tambaichi.
