and P-47 Thunderbolt fighters knock out bridge West of Shihkiachwang,
damage and attack others, and hit trucks, barracks, river
craft, storage facilities, gun positions, railroad targets,
and targets. Targets are in Pinghan River, Kukong, Lingling,
Chenhsien, Kuotaichiao, Pakonghow, Kweilin, Anyang, Shihkiachwang,
Loyang, Liuchow, and Paoching areas.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Taichu airfield. B-25 Mitchell
medium bombers hit town of Rokko and airfield at Okaseki.
On Luzon numerous B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-20 Havoc
light bombers, and fighter-bombers pound various objectives,
concentrating on Cagayan Valley, Cervantes area, and Antipolo-Ipo
sector. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers blast gun positions at
Ralikpapan and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and P-38 Lightning
fighters hit areas between Bruneind Kudat.
Twentieth Air Force. 44 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's fly incendiary mission against
Osaka Amagasaki urban area, ending a month of concentrated
fire raids against large Japanese cities. 30 other B-29 Superfortress
heavy bomber's mine Shimonoseki Strait and waters around Fukuoka,
Karatsu, and Fushiki. VII Fighter Command escort for Osakar
aid aborts due to bad weather.
