targets around Luichow Peninsula, Anyang, Yutze, Sinsiang,
Fentingtukou, Paoching, Tanchuk, Kweiyi, Pac Muong, and Haiphong.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb arms plant at Canton. On
Formosa P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers sweep West coast, blasting
a warehouse and other buildings South of Takao and targets
on Hoko Island. P-38 Lightning fighters and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers
support ground forces in North Cayagan Valley, in Kiangan
sector, and in Cervantes area. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers
and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers bomb defensive positions
in Infanta sector. 58 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit airfields
at Tomitaka and Usa. 25 pound Kikai Island, Miranoura on Yaku
Island, and airfield at Tamega Island.
Twentieth Air Force. During 15-
16
July 1945, 26 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress
heavy bomber's mine waters at Naoetsu, Niigata, Najin, Pusan,
and Wonsan. 59 other B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber's bomb
Nippon Oil Company at Kudamatsu.
VII Fighter Command. Iwo Jima based United States Army Air
Force (USAAF) fighters fly over 100 effective sorties against
airfields and other tactical targets at Meiji, Kagamigahara,
Kowa, Akenogahara, Nagoya, and Suzuko.
