Fourteenth Air Force. 9 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers attack troops, trains, and river craft around Chenhsien, Tehsien, and Hengyang.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). Okinawa based United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, A-26 Invader light bombers, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and fighters flying about 530 sorties cause extensive destruction of shipping and shore installations in the Inland Sea, in Tsushima area, and of command, transportation, and other targets throughout Kyushu. Philippine Islands based B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Heito airfield and Laha barracks. P-38 Lightning fighters hit buildings near Dibuluan and field guns near Kiangan.
