Lightning fighters bomb warehouses at Wuchang, hit railroad
targets near Yoyang, strafe 3 railroad stations North of Chuanhsien,
bomb buildings North of Kanchou, knock out bridge approach
South of Chuting, damage bridge near Hengyang, and hit targets
at Weichow Island, Laohokow, and Tourane.
Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
P-38 Lightning fighters and P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers support
ground action in North Cagayan Valley and hit enemy pockets
East of Manila. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Tainan airfield,
destroying several planes, and bomb warehouses at Takao. Bad
weather again prevents fighters sweep over Kyushu. B-24 Liberator
heavy bombers hit town of Muarakaman and airfield at Tabanio
while P-38 Lightning fighters strafe numerous targets in Southeast
Borneo. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Donggala warehouse
area.
Seventh Air Force. During 10-
11
July 1945, 1 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator
heavy bombers from Okinawa bombs Karasehara airfield. 43 other
Okinawa based B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Wan and Sateku
airfields on Kikaiga Island. 50 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers
bomb Wan airfield on Kikaiga Island and Saha-Saki on Naka-No
Island, both in the Ryukyus, and Kurume.
VII Fighter Command. United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
fighters, based on Iwo Jima, fly over 100 effective strike
sorties against Hashin, Nishinomiya, Sano, and Tokushima,
mostly hitting airfields.
Eleventh Air Force. 4 United States Army Air Force (USAAF)
B-24 Liberator heavy bombers fly a search down the West coasts
of Paramushiru and Shimushu and then radar bomb Minami Cape.
1 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers flies a radar ferret mission
over North Kurils.
