Ninth Air Force. 84 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers bomb V-weapon sites and other targets in France.

Twelfth Air Force. General Cannon takes command. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Terracina. P-40 fighters hit same target and also bomb positions and munitions factory South of Sant'Elia Fiumerapido. A-36 Apache dive bomber bomb positions, fuel dump, and munitions factory in Cervaro area, and hit trains, seaplane base, radar station, trucks, and other targets in Rome, Civitavecchia area.

Fifteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) Operations are restricted to weather reconnaissance and to air sea rescue patrols North of Corfu.

Fourteenth Air Force. 29 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers pound railroad yards at Chiengmai. Warehouse area along West side of the yards suffers very heavy damage. 14 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, with fighters escort, attack Hwajung.

Fifth Air Force. Preinvasion air strikes continue against Cape Gloucester as more than 100 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and A-20 Havoc light bombers pound the area. P-39 fighters strafe targets along Borgen and Rein Bays. P-40 fighters and A-20 Havoc light bombers hit Hoskins airfield. P-47 Thunderbolt fighters claim 17 fighters shot down in Arawe area. A-20 Havoc light bombers hit camps North of Finschhafen. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb and cannon Madang. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Amahai airfield. P-40 fighters hit Kaukenau.

Thirteenth Air Force. 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack Monoitu Mission. During 21-22 December 1943. Snoopers bomb various bivouac areas on Bougainville.

Seventh Air Force. 8 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from Nanumea escort 4 Navy PB4Y Privateer patrol bomber's on photo mission over Kwajalein Atoll. The B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb shipping and aircraft landing grounds and other facilities at Roi, Ennuebing, and Kwajalein Islands. A-24 Banshee dive bomber, along with Navy and Marine aircraft, hit shipping and airfields at Emidj Island. 16 P-39 fighters strafe fuel dumps, shipping, and antiaircraft at Mille.
