Washington announced 23 Axis submarines destroyed to date
by United States Forces,
First meeting of Pacific War Council held at White House,
Washington.
Call up of all Australian single men between 18 and 45 and
married men between 18 and 35.
Zone of Interior. Air Commodore Proving Ground becomes Proving
Ground Command, with main base at Eglin Field.
