Events On This Day

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers offensive sweep carried out over North France. Night attack on Channel ports, the Ruhr, Le Havre, aerodromes in Low Countries and France, and North Italy.

In the Mediterranean, Two more heavy raids on Malta.

In the Philippines, Corregidor raided 12 times in 24 hours.

In Australasia, Allied bombers attacked Rabaul in New Britain, Lae in New Guinea and Faisi in the Solomons. Koepang, in Dutch Timor, raided by Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

Army Air Forces General Arnold sends air plans for BOLERO to General Marshall in London. Plan calls for establishment of Eighth Air Force in United Kingdom.

Fifth Air Force. Australia based B-25 Mitchell medium bombers , staging through Mindanao, hit harbour and shipping at Cebu while B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers carry out single bomber strikes from Mindanao against Cebu harbour and Nichols Field.
