Paris reported that German patrols showed great activity on
the Western front, a determined but unsuccessful raid being
made on the French post, preceded by intense artillery fire.
The attack was beaten off with casualties on both sides.
It was reported that the Norwegian liner Mira was attacked
eight times by German bombers, while on way from England to
Norway. During three of these attacks, British warships came
to the rescue, to bombers were shot down and two others damaged.
German cargo ship Uhenfels, was captured by the British Navy
in November, was brought up the Thames, the first prize ship
to arrive in London.
German threats against Balkan states were renewed as a result
of announcement of the formation of the English commercial
cooperation.
Swedish and Norwegian ministers in London were handed notes
said to clarify the allies attitude on Scandinavian neutrality.
M Georges Monnet French minister blockade, arrived in London
and was in conference with Mr Cross, Minister of economic
warfare.
