The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Made sustained attack on
targets in Dusseldorf area, Other objectives included ports
of Antwerp and Calais, several aerodromes and antiaircraft
gun positions. Luftwaffe bomber shot down over Dutch coast.
The war against Italy, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Bombers heavily
damaged Italian destroyer off Santi Quaranta. Greek Navy later
captured it. Other forces bombed selected targets at Turin,
including the Royal Arsenal.
Bombs dropped during day over Dover. Two raids on East Anglian
town. Midlands were again attacked at night, bombs being dropped
in a number of districts. London and Home Counties were also
raided.
The Greek War, Greek patrols entered outskirts of Santi Quaranta.
Italians evacuating Argyrokastro and Premeti. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Shot down eight enemy aircraft and severely damaged
seven others. Italian troops retreating in Tepelini-Klisura
area were successfully attacked by British bombers and fighters.
First Free French Cross of Liberation awarded posthumously
to Colonial civil servant in French West Africa.
