British fleet seized all French warships in British harbours.
Those in North African ports which refused conditions offered
were fired upon, and many damaged. Ships at Alexandria were
refused permission to leave. Many ships and savers accepted
British control.
French ships in British ports were placed under control. But
following refusal of Admiral at Oran to accept conditions
offered by British battle squadron opened fire, sank one battleship
and damaged of the units. French ships at Alexandria were
forbidden by Britain to leave port.
French liner, Champlain reported sunk by a mine off La Pallice,
Bay of Biscay.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out daylight
raids in Belgium and Holland.
Dive attacks made on aerodromes at Ypenburg, The Hague and
at Evere, Brussels.
Night raids made on aerodromes at Aachen, De Kooy and Merville.
Coastal command aircraft bombed enemy bases at Texel and Ymuiden.
Number of Italian aircraft destroyed in middle east since
beginning of hostilities reached 60.
Luftwaffe performed daylight raids over England and Scotland.
Seven Luftwaffe bombers shot down. 6 civilians killed and
78 injured. Train on south coast bombed, driver killed.
Germany refused Romania's request for a treaty of alliance
all military assistance.
